The Perils of Plastics

There is a plethora of information out there as to why we all need to cleanse. By and large most of it is true. However, one important reason why we need to cleanse and detoxify has not received enough attention and it’s a MAJOR component to the equation. Plastics!
We live in a world that is covered, wrapped, and even piped in plastic. Our current generation is one of the first to see the byproduct of using plastic PVC piping in homes, a practice that started about three decades ago. We are now beginning to see the impact of this practice on our health.
The reality of PVC pipes is that over time the plastic begins to break down. The result of deteriorating plastic is that toxins leak into our water. One of the problems this creates is that the plastics contain components that mimic estrogen. They are called "Xeno" or “designer” estrogen. Xeno estrogen simply means it is estrogen that enters the body externally. This type of external, synthetic estrogen fools the body into believing it is normal internal estrogen and it wreaks havoc with hormone levels, especially affecting women.
Another source of external estrogen and other toxins comes from the fact that our food is wrapped in plastic. Many of us engage in the bad habit of heating food up in plastic that leaches the toxins into our food. We microwave food on plastic plates or in plastic containers, and now we’re faced with the double whammy of radiation from the microwave and the toxic particles from the plastic wrappers and containers.
So What Can We Do?
There’s not a lot we can do about the PVC piping in our homes, however, it is a very good idea to use high-quality filtration systems not only for our drinking water but also for our main water supply.
Try and use glassware when cooking as opposed to plastic. Substitute paper plates for Tupperware when using the microwave. AND, never heat things in the microwave that are wrapped in plastic.
Finally, the most important thing you can do is cleanse and detoxify your system using a high-quality cleansing program. Try and do this at least once per year –preferably once every six months.
By doing these things you will not completely eliminate toxins from getting into your system from plastics but you will dramatically reduce the amount. And engaging in cleansing programs will help eliminate the toxins you are ingesting.
